Rain, snow, or extreme heat keeping you from working out? You’re not the only one. Many people struggle with finding ways to exercise during a storm or heat wave. But don’t worry! We at Proform Coupons have put together a list of ways to get in some exercise when you are trapped indoors.
Of course, you can always go to the gym. Air conditioned, distraction-free, and obviously indoors, this can be an athlete’s safe haven from the storm. Bad weather is always a great time to make use of that gym pass (unless you get snowed in of course).
But if you don’t like working out in public though (or you get snowed in), you can always count on your home treadmill. These are a nice alternative to outdoor running when the weather becomes unbearable. With a variety of workout programs and features, these handy dandy machines will help keep you entertained. But if you do exhaust every possibility of entertainment on your treadmill, you can always turn on the television and pump up the volume while running out your workout.
There are also several in-home AND free exercises you can do. Jumping jacks, situps, pushups, and running in place are all good ideas.
One way to work out your core muscles is pelvic gyrations. Think of Spongebob, bringing it around town!
I know you aren’t a sponge, so I’m going to explain how to do these for humans. Stand up straight with your feet planted directly lined up below your shoulders. Put your hands on your hips, and thrust your hips wide around you in a big circle. Feel free to change directions! Just be careful about overstretching yourself – you don’t want to get injured!
Consider doing NEAT exercises. Simply incorporate extra movements to the things you are already doing.
You can also make use of workout tapes. Bring on the sweat, Richard Simmons! There are tons of workout videos available, even Zumba dance routines. Have fun with it! Pick an exercise class that you love and do it in the comfort of your home.
These are just a few ways that I came up with for exercising in bad weather. Do you have any ideas? Feel free to leave a comment and share your suggestions!
