Look no further than a treadmill if you’re looking to improve your cardiovascular health, drop some pounds, strengthen the lower body, and improve multiple health factors. Of course, walking or running outside is great – but if safety or weather conditions don’t permit it, a treadmill is the next best option.
Quite possibly the most popular piece of cardio equipment in a gym, a treadmill offers multiple benefits for almost any user. Even if you don’t want to go to a local fitness center (and would instead work out in your home gym), a treadmill can be an excellent investment for several realms of health.
Having a treadmill available at your fingertips whenever you want to work out is terrific – but with so many on the market, it can be challenging to find one that fits your needs. Today, we’ll look into the treadmills from ProForm and Nautilus, two popular fitness brands. Then, you can decide if one is right for you and your goals
ProForm Treadmills
ProForm currently offers six different treadmills, ranging from $899 to $1,899. These treadmills include the Pro 9000, Carbon T7, Carbon TL, Trainer 8.0, Sport 6.0, and Trainer 9.0. A 30-day subscription to iFit is included with the price and then can continue for $39 a month after those 30 days are over.
This iFit membership allows access to thousands of on-demand and streaming workouts and enables you to use a virtual trainer. These trainers not only motivate and encourage – they can adjust your intensity as well if needed!
These workouts and trainers can be viewed on high-definition touchscreens, ranging from 5” to 10”. Depending on the specific treadmill you want, the speed can vary from 0-12 mph and the incline from -3 to 15%.
In addition, ProForm treadmills are equipped with SpaceSaver Design, which allows you to fold the treadmill in half and store it away – perfect for when you don’t need it and don’t want it to take up precious space in your home!
Audio is available through the treadmills with dual 2” speakers, and the weight capacity of the machines is 300 pounds. With the ability to find a streaming workout that fits your health and wellness goals and specs that can engage even the most intense fitness enthusiasts, you’re sure to find a treadmill from ProForm that works for you and your family!
Nautilus Treadmills
Nautilus currently offers two treadmills; this includes the T618, priced at $1,499, and the T616, priced at $1,149. Both treadmills offer similar specs. Both have 26 workout programs available, allowing you to see your caloric burn, distance, and time, and giving you the ability to do interval training and custom workouts. In addition, both treadmills will enable four users to interface on the profile page on the Explore the World App. Speeds for both machines range from 0-12 mph, and the incline option ranges from 0-15%.
The backlit LCDs allow you to pace your workout against prior workouts if desired. Bluetooth accessibility will enable you to listen to your favorite music as you log your miles. The T618 has urethane dipped handrails that allow you to control your incline and speed, while the T616 has ABS steel handrails. The T618 has a slightly larger footprint and has a maximum capacity of 350 pounds, while the T616 has a maximum capacity of 300 pounds.
If you want to easily control your settings from the handrails, check out the T618 if you don’t mind a slightly larger treadmill. Otherwise, check out the T616 for a foundational treadmill.
The Bottom Line
Both Proform and Nautilus make excellent high-quality treadmills. Proform has the advantage of a wider selection of machines to choose from at lower price points than Nautilus. We love Proform’s space-saving designs and i-Fit subscription.
